Automation Tester

Position: Automation Tester
Location: Onsite initially, then hybrid – Athens, Greece

The iRecruit.gr team is recruiting on behalf of a leading company in the energy sector. We are looking for an experienced Automation Tester to design, implement, and maintain robust automated testing frameworks across diverse web and backend projects.

Role Overview:

As an Automation Tester, you will take ownership of designing testing strategies, integrating automated pipelines, and ensuring product quality across JavaScript, React, and Java environments. You will work closely with developers and junior QA engineers, promote shift-left testing practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a test strategy for Vanilla JavaScript, React, and Java projects.

• Integrate automated testing pipelines into Azure DevOps Tests for execution and reporting.

• Validate requirements through a combination of manual and automated testing.

• Develop and maintain automated test suites using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Jest, or other suitable frameworks.

• Integrate testing tools such as JUnit, Mocha, Jasmine for JavaScript/React/Java environments.

• Define, apply, and monitor QA standards and processes across the team.

• Implement a wide range of tests: functional, integration, performance, and security tests.

• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure code testability and promote shift-left testing.

• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to junior QA Engineers.

• Analyze feedback, improve QA processes, and enhance testing efficiency.

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and test automation, including 2+ years in Azure DevOps Testing.

• Strong knowledge of Postman for API testing (Environments, Variables, Pre/Post Scripts, Mocks, Monitoring).

• Proven testing experience in Vanilla JavaScript, React, and Java.

• Excellent command of automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Jest, JUnit, Mocha, and Jasmine.

• Strong coaching and training abilities and a collaborative working style.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as ISTQB Certified Tester or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.

• Experience in security and performance testing.

• Ability to analyze data from monitoring/analytics tools (e.g., Crashlytics) using Kusto Query Language (KQL).
